After many years of not updating my blog theme, I’ve finally found a modern one that is free and has features I like! Here’s a description of Top Blog by Firefly Themes:
Top Blog our new free WordPress Theme specially designed for blog and magazines but can be used for other website too as it comes with varieties of customizable features. It comes with different slider and grid design for blog posts. With highly customizable options Top Blog Pro is suitable for almost any kind of blog or business or concepts and helps you to create professional looking website in just few clicks. Not only it has many features but the design itself look elegant and unique which fits any screen as our all themes are responsive. Top Blog is also made by secured codes by our highly skilled developers to ensure that you are in safe hands.
What prompted this sudden change of blog? Well, my Beachbody contract is ending and the agency asked me if I was updating my website… so I did some updates to my portfolio and this blog. Anyways, I don’t know much about Firefly Themes, but I like what I’ve seen from them so far. My favorite part of this theme is the Slider, which is pretty easy to customize and get working without much effort. Deciding which posts to share is the hardest part, which really makes everything seem easy.
Social Media
It was also super easy to add the social media icons, which I already had in a WordPress menu. Overall, it’s a clean modern look that definitely doesn’t feel dated. They even have a Pro version, which I might consider eventually if my financial situation magically improves. Until then, this post is my endorsement for at least one of their themes. It’s an attractive and easy-to-use WordPress theme that makes me finally feel my blog is up to date!
Pro Version
For only $59 a year (or $169.99 for a lifetime), I could upgrade to the Top Blog Pro Version:
Top Blog Pro
Top Blog Pro a blogging WordPress theme designed to fit any type of brand, company, organization or cause. Top Blog Pro has all the features and functionality that any modern WordPress theme needs. It has features such as full responsive, associate logo, content widget areas (1,2,3), featured content, hero content, WooCommerce ready, slider, key features, skills, stats, pricing table, playlist, portfolio, promotion headline, team, testimonial and so on. With above features it is possible to create any website, and can be personalized according to your organization or brand or company. Top Blog Pro comes with many demos which will certainly give you idea about what type of website you would like to build. It has simple yet stunning design which is light weight as well. It is a user friendly modern and clean e-commerce theme that will put your products, prices and deals in the spotlight which will attract more visitor on your site.
I supposed if my blog was a money-maker that required extra features, I would absolutely upgrade. For now, the free version is everything I could ask for in a theme without completely overwhelming me or my readers with changes. Since I just started using it, I will give myself some time to learn what I can and can’t do in Pro vs Free to see if upgrading would help.
