BandCamp Friday: Jennie Vee, Twin Tribes, telescopes, Night Beats, No Joy, Magic Wands

For my friends who need new music, BandCamp Fridays are a great way to support indie bands while also enjoying new tunes. Just noticed a ton of emails from artists I follow on BandCamp, so here’s a short list of cool new music to buy! I may do a separate post just for Magic Wands, since I think their new album might be worth buying…

Out For Blood by Jennie Vee

I think she’s gotten a little happier and poppier, so good for her! It doesn’t match the somewhat angry sounding title.

Perdidos (Cult Of Alia Remix) by Twin Tribes

Who doesn’t love a little goth remix? They’re good post punk revivalists, who are also my Instagram friends!

Songs Of Love And Revolution by the telescopes

Just a pre-order, but the first track “Mesmerized” is a moody bit of psych rock with a downbeat Velvet Underground vibe…

  • Pre-order of Songs Of Love And Revolution. You get 1 track now (streaming via the free Bandcamp app and also available as a high-quality download in MP3, FLAC and more), plus the complete album the moment it’s released.

That’s All You Got by Night Beats ft Robert Levon Been

I got the idea for this post because of this new Night Beats track, which is more bluesy and soul inspired. The B-side ‘Never Look Back’ is slightly more rock (the usual Night Beats) sound, and also features BRMC’s Levon Been.

Disco 6 (Motherhood Demos) by No Joy

No Joy is my current shoe gaze band du jour, this particular track also seems a little new wave sounding.

Blue Cherry by Magic Wands

Check out “Blue Cherry” off new album Illuminate out Dec 4th 2020. LA dreampop / lovewave duo Magic Wands present their fourth long-play ‘ILLUMINATE’– a collection of songs they produced, mixed and recorded themselves in their home studio over the past six months. This inspiration for this album lies in introspection, escapism, fantasy, love and dreamscape scenarios.

This is the band’s first self-produced album, following singles  ‘Blue Cherry’, ‘Angel Dust’ and ‘Cyan Blue’, which also appear on the album.
