Influenster Frosty VoxBox
I joined this website called Influenster from a friend’s invitation a couple years ago. It’s a product review site, though occasionally you can qualify to get free stuff from well known brands. In the past, I’ve sampled products like Aveeno Positively Radiant Intensive Night Creme, Sargento Thin Sliced Cheese, Colgate Total Mouthwash. I even got a Sony Bluetooth Speaker for completing some in store tasks! I love getting the VoxBoxes because you get to sample many different products you wouldn’t normally know about.
The Frosty VoxBox was full of great new products that I would definitely want to continue using.
On the beauty product list, No7 Protect & Perfect Advanced Serum Sachet (Full Sized: $22.99) from Boots Beauty USA. I’ve already had positive experiences with previous Boots Beauty products on their organic line and a few other skin care products, so I had high hopes for this serum. The sachet was large enough for a couple uses and the serum did make my skin feel much softer and smoother. This serum is meant to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, though that’s not my main skin concern – I think it could help with continued use. The $2 off coupon for the product at Target is very tempting…
Rimmel London provided a couple eye makeup products to sample: Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Eyeliner ($4.49) and Rimmel Gentle Eye Makeup Remover ($7.49). I tried the eyeliner with the NYC Expert Last Lip Color in Sugar Plum ($1.99), and was pretty happy with the result. The lip color was just a little darker than my normal lip color, but it did add a nice sparkle to my lips. The eyeliner went on very smoothly and darkly, which makes it a lot better than most eyeliners I have used before. The eye makeup remover worked well and wasn’t at all irritating to my eyes.
I was pretty excited about the EcoTools Styler + Smoother hairbrush ($10.99) since I was curious to see how their brushes compared to my normal plastic paddle brushes. This hairbrush was light and smoothed my thin straight flyaway hair like a charm! The handle is made of a very light material and the bristles detangled my hair very well. I had a slight static problem after brushing, but it went away pretty quickly.
There were three delicious food/drink type items in the Frosty VoxBox. The first one I tried was Celestial Seasonings Candy Cane Lane Decaf Green Tea. I ended up mixing it with some sweeteners to compliment the peppermint flavor. I’ve definitely been on a tea kick lately as the temperatures have dropped slightly and will probably end up using the coupon for more of this tea flavor. I shared the Fruit Vines Bites in Strawberry with my boyfriend. We almost finished the whole bag in one night due to how tasty they are, definitely a good flavor and texture to this candy.
At first, I wasn’t sure what to do with the McCormick Gourmet Thyme ($4.79) as my exposure to most spices is limited to whatever we have in the pantry. Much of our spice collection has sat there for years, but browsing the McCormick website for recipes lead me to a very simple and easy recipe for Smoked Paprika Chicken (5 minute prep and 20 minutes of oven baking) that ended up very tasty. I paired it with some leftover Pastaroni from the previous night (with added bacon). I will definitely continue using it!
