From August 14th the 22nd, Little Tokyo was celebrating Nisei Week. It’s an annual event that I happened to see last year for Tanabata Festival (which is on the 14th and 15th). It was pretty cool, a celebration of Japanese culture in Los Angeles and the specially made posters, shirts, and fans by Tokidoki were nice too! It was pretty amazing that the huge posters and nice paper fans were only $3 each. I got a bunch and I still wonder if I should have gotten more!
I haven’t spent much time in Little Tokyo, so it was really cool to hang out there for awhile. The floats and parades were interesting, but I found the booths to be more interesting. Spicy Brown was there again and they always have cool stuff for good prices! I also visited a few interesting stores in the area and I found a lot of cool stuff. There’s a good anime store called the Jungle there, which actually has a couple locations not too far away from each other.
