Dermalogica Face Mapping™ analysis

I’m not too familiar with Dermalogica’s products, though I have some samples I could try. I just found their Face Mapping™ tool on their website very fascinating. Unlike most online quizzes to find a skincare routine, this one actually uses a selfie to identify skin issues to determine what products to get for them. The products are on the more expensive side unfortunately, but isn’t that always the case? Three products at just under $200 is a lot more than I want to pay even with a job!

Ulta has a similar tool on their app called Skin Analysis, but it’s often not working. However, it does give you a wider selection of recommended products since Ulta sells a lot more brands. My latest Skin Analysis actually said my lines and wrinkles were more prominent than my eye area concern. The routine they recommended was under $150, but that’s still more than I usually want to pay. Again, even with a job!

I tried Dermalogica’s Face Mapping™ analysis at night and in the day time and my under eye area was the biggest concern for both. Though the lighting of that nighttime selfie kind of reduced my visible oiliness and acne scars that are more noticeable in the daytime. I personally felt my dark spots and acne scars are worse than my under eyes, but maybe I’m wrong. I also thought I had combination skin, though I guess it’s more oily.

With all my interest in the skincare and skinfluencer world at the moment, I guess I’m still learning. What I do know is I’m still not using the right products and I’m still figuring out what they are. I still have a bunch of Tatcha products to try out, but a lot of them are probably more for dry skin. I’m also planning to try some more stuff from the Inkey List soon, thanks to some sales I made on Mercari.

Anyways, if you’re interested in diagnosing skin issues or just trying Dermalogica’s products, their Face Mapping tool is pretty cool. YouCam Makeup app has a cool skin score part of their app, but it doesn’t provide much explanation though it does provide product recommendations from many brands on how to improve your skin. What YouCam Makeup app seems to really provide is a confidence boost since it says my skin age is 23, which it definitely is not!
