The BRMC world is really buzzing these days and for good reason! The recently released demo “Ordinary Boy” is apparently getting some great feedback. I’m enjoying it a lot too. I know BRMC’s mailing list is not exactly a secret. I didn’t feel right about sharing the link on my fan site since it could interfere with mailing list sign ups. Maybe they’re redesigning their site to have the mailing list link there. It’s currently only on their store, which I thought was a mailing list for the store. Anyways, I figured I could share the song on my own blog since no one reads it:
We wanted to share a downloadable version with you all of a new BRMC song called “Ordinary Boy” with you. Hope you enjoy it, and wish you all happy holidays.
I’m trying to convince my boyfriend to take me to the Harvard & Stone New Year’s Eve party/benefit show Peter Hayes is playing. I don’t like missing a chance to see an acoustic set by him or any of BRMC. Also, I know some of my friends will be there. I suggested we ride Metro up from Union Station since it’s free on New Year’s Eve. Plus, it might remedy the parking situation. Harvard & Stone is close to a Red Line station (Hollywood & Western). The benefit is more expensive than most shows, but benefits a good cause. Plus, I can finally see Eagles of Death Metal (sort of). Not sure if Jesse Hughes is also playing acoustic since that isn’t mentioned.
Here’s a detailed description of the event:
Harvard & Stone is very proud to announce we’ll be continuing our annual tradition with Jesse Hughes of Eagles Of Death Metal this NYE! This will be a benefit for the victims of the Paris attacks last month with proceeds going to Jesse & Josh Homme’s Sweet Stuff Foundation.
We’re ringing in H&S’ fifth new year with special performances by BRMC’s Peter Hayes, the H&S burlesque dancers Jillian & Lil’ Jenni, the legendary H&S band and DJs Dan & Lindsay Mancini plus Yael Vengroff & Joey Bernardo in R&D. Backed by the H&S band, Jesse Hughes, Father Badass, himself will be taking the stage and ringing in the New Year at midnight. Our friends at Pernod Ricard and St. Germain are also proud sponsors of the night.
Your ticket includes open bar all night: all craft cocktails & punches, craft beers, bottomless champagne, and of course, karma for days.

Aside from the Raveonettes party at the Casbah last year, I haven’t really done any big New Year’s party stuff with Andrew. He prefers to stay home, play video games, and watch videos. The only time he really wants to do anything is when friends or family invite us over, which is fine too. I think being isolated at home so much really makes seeing friends more exciting. Plus, open bar!
