Almost Summer

I haven’t been particularly active on this blog recently, not necessarily too busy – just not sure what to write about. I’m enjoying my new job, though my mom loves to remind me of how a couple jobs let me go around this time – possibly due to taking days off (though one company was getting rid of people before they let go of me and the other wasn’t keeping me very busy).

Those reasons aside, I know that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t be worried. This job does seem different being 30 hours/week and working with a small team. I’m not saying there’s no chance of a losing the job, but I think I am safe for now since it seems there will be plenty of work ahead for me there.

There are lots of exciting free events going on this summer just in LA (though not only there). I’m not just going to those, but I will probably schedule those in first. It’ll be nice since I’ll get to catch up with friends who are usually busy with work and school.  Of course, I’ll also probably get to enjoy some good performances.

KCRW seems to be involved  in a lot of the free shows this summer, so that’s usually a good thing. It seems every other year, there’s an artist at Make Music Pasadena that my brother drives down specifically to see. I’m not sure if any of my friends are interested this year, but I know he will want to see SoKo. I’m sure there are other good bands playing, I’m just not sure who.

The first free event outside LA is this one:

FILTER and the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego invite you to a night of free music.

Come to the 207 Bar in San Diego on June 5 from 10pm-1am (doors at 9pm) for music from The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, ViolensAdam Salter and Gabe Vega.

RSVP below for the 21+ event.

Be sure to arrive early, space is limited to capacity.
